JOB DESCRIPTION:
IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL SUPPORT CHEMICAL BIOLOGY EFFORTS UNDERPINNING
NEW LEAD DISCOVERY BY PROVIDING COMPUTATIONAL EXPERTISE INCLUDING, BUT
NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING;
- Apply computational chemistry tools to
- Evaluate and analyze targets of interest for druggability/ligandability
- Identify and design hits for challenging/novel targets of interest
- Develop and optimize hits for potency and selectivity
- Work with interdisciplinary teams seamlessly to drive drug discovery projects
- Independently plan, execute and deliver results in a timely fashion
- Regular data analysis, project updates, literature survey and presentations on the targets
- Participate in project team meetings and contribute to the projects intellectually
- Must be detail oriented, well organized with ability to analyze and communicate data effectively
- Must be a team player in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
- Maintain servers, software and databases
REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD in Medicinal Chemistry/Computational Chemistry/other relevant fields with more than 4 years of experience OR Masters/M.E in Medicinal Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/other relevant fields with more than 8 years of experience in the application of computational tools to facilitate the design and optimization of potent and selective small molecules against various targets of interest.
- Knowledge of the latest technologies in computational chemistry, and openness to explore new methods for drug discovery
- Competence in structure-based and ligand-based design techniques like protein modelling, virtual screening, SAR, molecular dynamics simulations, etc., is critical
- Scripting skills are preferred.
- Experience in working independently and managing team member
