Senior Research Fellow Positions on a Stem cell and Genomics Program.
The Institute of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), is a premier research centre carrying out frontier research in the field stem cell biology. inStem has recently initiated a collaborative program of research with the the National Centre for Biological Sciences and the National Institute for Mental Health and Neurosciences. The program aims to understand the cellular and molecular basis of mental illness with a long-term goal to develop new therapies. The program involves generation and analysis of cellular models using patient derived human induced pluripotent stem cells (HiPSCs) and its differentiated derivatives. We are looking for individuals with cell biology experience to assist in establishment of a biobank of stable human induced pluripotent stem cell (HiPSC) cell lines from peripheral blood samples.
Senior Research Fellow positions are available for candidates with cell and molecular biology expertise to work in this program. The appointments will be a fixed term position initially for a period of one (1) year that may be extended up to a maximum of three years depending on the performance of the candidate. The position comes with a consolidated pay based on their qualification and experience.
Qualification: Masters’ degree in a relevant area (mammalian cell culture, Cell signalling, Biochemistry, Molecular biology. Cell Physiology) from a recognized Institute.
Experience: Two (2) years experience in handling mammalian cell culture in a research setting.
Desirable: Experience with stem cell culture technique and knowledge of genome engineering technology /live cell imaging.
Salary: As per institute norms.
The position is available immediately.
