Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (www.instem.res.in) an autonomous institution under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India invites applications for the post of Head – Administration. The post is in UN-RESERVED CATEGORY and therefore no relaxation in age or qualifications shall be applicable.
Position Overview:
The function of the position is of senior level support reporting to the Dean /Director of the Institute. It is essential that the incumbent is a well-organized individual with excellent communication and multi-tasking skills who thrives on diversity in an evolving professional environment. The incumbent shall be responsible for running a proactive responsive Administrative system based on the policy guidelines set up by the inStem Governing Council. The candidate should have proven ability of co-coordinating and leading a team of officers from various wings e.g. administration, purchase & stores, hospitality & security of large academic or R &D institution.
Institute for Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine (inStem) along with National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) & Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) forms the Bangalore Bio-cluster. At an appropriate point, the incumbent may be entrusted the responsibility of overseeing the management functions of the cluster institutions.
Responsibilities include correspondence with Ministry/Department, agreements and dispute resolution, supervision of functional performance, management of contracts for outsourced services, handling matters relating to personnel management, patents & IPR, and liaison with DBT and other government and non-governmental organizations.
Qualification criteria:
(a) Essential: Post Graduate/MBA in any discipline, from a recognized university.
(b) Desirable: Degree in Law.
(c ) Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in a reputed Academic institution/R& D Centre/ PSUs

AGE LIMIT: Below 50 years .
SALARY: The position is in the pay scale of PB-4 (Rs. 37400-67,000) with Grade Pay of Rs. 8700/- The Gross salary at the minimum of the scale will be Rs. 124755/- per month. However, the institute reserves the right to make flexible appointments to the post by allowing lower or higher pay in P.B. 3 or 4 with appropriate Grade Pay, depending upon the qualification & experience of the candidate found suitable.
NATURE OF APPOINTMENT: Direct recruitment/Deputation/Absorption/Re-employed (for a limited period). In case of Direct recruitment appointment will be for five (5) year contract of which the First (1st) year shall be on probation. Thereafter, renewal shall be subject to annual review of performance.
