In order to enable viral ecosystems and translation networks require experts in modelling, surveillance, virology, vaccine science, immunology, clinical sciences, manufacturing and distributions, basic science, computational biology and AI specialists along with others to work together. Inter disciplinarity requires both the presence of these different streams and a functioning knowledge of some of these various disciplines. Covid has dramatically driven home this argument and we need different ways and models of working together in different institutional structures.
Moving towards this, we have two inter disciplinary meetings lined up. The first one to be held on October 18that NCBS and the second one in Goa in mid November.
The mid October meeting has Gautam Menon of Ashoka University giving a plenary talk followed by a number of colleagues largely drawn from IISc along with the BLISc campus.
