NMR Research Scientist/Postdoctoral Fellow

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • PhD in Biomolecular NMR with 1-2 years of postdoctoral research experience with peer-reviewed publications in the relevant field
  • Demonstrated track record in setting up NMR experiments in-house by operating, calibrating 600 and 800 MHz NMR instrumentation is essential
  • Expertise in any of the NMR techniques like Water LOGSY, STD, NOESY, HSQC, etc., applied to the study of protein:ligand complexes and fragment-based drug discovery is essential
  • Experience in backbone and sidechain assignments using 3D NMR experiments is essential
  • Hands on experience in recombinant protein expression, purification and N15 labeling is desirable
  • Working knowledge of techniques like FPLC, circular dichromism, isothermal calorimetry (ITC), dynamic light scattering (DLS), Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) etc., would be an advantage·
  • The candidate should be able to collect, process data and interpret protein ligand interactions and if needed develop new experiments/pulse programs and analysis scripts.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Biophysical characterization of protein-protein and protein-small molecule interactions by solution NMR spectroscopy
  • Screening of small molecules/Fragments to identify binders that could be further optimized for potency
  • Backbone and side chain assignments using 3D NMR experiments
  • Biophysical characterization of proteins and protein-ligand complexes to facilitate protein science studies (e.g. DLS, ITC, DSC, FP)·
  • Support and enable reproducible large-scale protein purifications in quantity and quality suitable for NMR spectroscopy
  • Regular data analysis, project updates, literature survey and presentations on the target(s)
  • Familiarity with up-to-date laboratory safety protocols and employs them in the course of all work.
