Human disease is usually a complex construct of basic biology, clinical therapy and community medicine. A significant gap exists between objectives of basic researchers, experts engaged in public health and primary care clinicians, all of whom have to interact concertedly over years to provide viable healthcare solutions. This gap is specifically acute for mental health, though the core challenges and paradigms share commonality with communicable diseases. This meeting is part of a series across Indian and Africa, to catalyze thought processes among stakeholders to find shared solutions with research collaboration and novel teachings outcome.
