The Laboratory Support Department at inStem plays a pivotal role in ensuring that research activities and day-to-day laboratory operations run seamlessly. This department is responsible for providing technical, logistical, and operational support to all laboratories and facilities within the institute by facilitating a range of essential services.

These include the consolidation of lab consumable orders, oligonucleotide procurement, coordinating with external vendors for Sanger sequencing and karyotyping, preparing Drosophila media, supplying laboratory-grade gases, and overseeing the periodic disposal of biomedical and hazardous chemical waste.

Additionally, the department manages tissue culture facilities, ensures a steady supply of liquid nitrogen and dry ice, maintains cell lines by refilling liquid nitrogen as per the schedule, ships biological samples, manages assets, and oversees laboratory kitchen services.
