Building capacity in stem cell research

Wednesday January 22, 2020

Under the aegis of the multi-institutional Accelerator program for Discovery in Brain disorders using Stem cells (ADBS), the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) conducted a 10-day laboratory workshop on Reprogramming human somatic cells to induced pluripotent stem cells (hIPSc) from 15 -24 January 2020.

The workshop is part of a sustained effort to train and build capacity in stem cell research in India. Nine participants, all junior researchers from various institutions in India received hands-on training at the workshop.  The workshop focuses on techniques involved in the generation and maintenance of high-quality hiPSCs from human somatic cells. The course combined hands-on laboratory training sessions and lectures from experts in the field.
