Arjun Guha
Principal Investigator

I am a cellular and developmental biologist with a long-standing interest in respiratory systems. I trained in the laboratory of Satyajit Mayor at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bengaluru, and carried out postdoctoral work with Tom Kornberg at the University of California, San Francisco, and Wellington Cardoso at the Boston University School of Medicine. I was appointed Assistant Professor at the Pulmonary Center, Boston University School of Medicine, before moving to inStem in 2014–2015, where my laboratory is currently based.

The Guha laboratory studies how differentiated cell states are established, maintained, and altered. We are particularly interested in cellular plasticity as a regulated property of tissues, and in how this regulation shapes responses to stress, injury, and disease. Our work spans the human and murine lung as well as the Drosophila respiratory system, using genetic, cell biological, and molecular approaches to uncover the underlying mechanisms.
