"My research interest is in 'inter-organ cross talks' between the stomach and heart. Food habits affect the heart but do genes/proteins in the stomach influence the heart? Is there a shared genetic link? I am investigating these exciting questions using state-of-the-art techniques in human genetics to mouse models, and patient-specific stem cells derived cardiomyocytes (e.g., Functional genomics, ultrasound and confocal imaging, transcriptomics, proteomics, molecular and cell biology techniques, immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting, etc.). My work would help to understand the potential link between stomach-related molecules impacting the heart and finally provide possible drug targets."
