3D humanized cardiomyopathy model for pathophysiology and drug discovery
"Advances in bio-material engineering technology inspired us to envisage a novel hydrogel construct harbouring human ESC lines or patient-specific iPSC lines derived cardiomyocytes. We are working on interdisciplinary platforms employing photolithography and bioprinter tools to build a cutting-edge innovative biocompatible hydrogel (GelMA) combination to facilitate cardiomyocyte growth and differentiation. Further, the constructs will be characterized for their efficiency in functional aspects of mature cardiomyocytes in disease. The emerging model would be a successful cardiomyopathy-specific model and will serve the purpose of drug screening and therapeutic applications."
