We are setting up a composite program to build biosensors for imaging intracellular protein activation in living cells. The lab will be focused on technology development to build reporters for cell signaling as well as uncovering the basic mechanisms of signaling, especially in the context of cell adhesion and cell migration. We will also be building new biosensors for addressing signaling dynamics in stem cells in collaboration with other groups at inStem. We are looking for outstanding chemists who have a flair for adapting cutting edge chemical approaches for cell biology. Experience in dye chemistry, fluorescence spectroscopy and chemical biology will be highly desirable. Interest in quantitative approaches and fluorescence microscopy will be a plus.
Our approach is very interdisciplinary in nature and will employ diverse methods for probe development and solving outstanding problems in cell signaling. We are specifically interested in using high-throughput screening and high-content imaging to build suitable biosensors. There will be ample opportunities to collaborate with other groups at inStem and NCBS for both technology/tool development as well to address fundamental questions in stem cell biology.
