We invite applications for XXXVII All India Cell Biology Conference, which will be held by inStem, Bangalore from December 22- 24, 2013. The theme of the conference this year is Cell Dynamics and Cell Fate”.The conference speakers represent a cross section of dynamic young cell biologists from across the country and we hope this meeting will provide a platform for new results, nucleating collaborations and inspiring the next generation of cell biologists.

Accommodation and Transport

Dates and times: The conference starts in the morning of December 22 at 9:00 am in J N Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. So please do arrange your travel such that you reach either the previous day or by early morning on 22nd. The conference formally ends on Tuesday, 24 at 5:00 pm. We can provide you with accommodation for a maximum of 4 nights - 21, 22, 23, and 24 of Dec 2013. 

Travel documents for foreigners: Foreign students please ensure that you have a valid visa for your trip to India.

You are responsible for your transport to the place of accommodation. 

Please use the google maps link below to obtain detailed directions from airport and railway station have been provided. 


The airport runs public buses called BIA- Vayu Vajra buses – most of these will get you to Mekhri Circle from where you can take an autorickshaw to IISc Gymkhana and IAS Guest House. The BIA-4 will drop you in Benson town (on Nandi-durga road, near Millers road) very close to the UTC guesthouse, please consult the bus driver.

The NCBS Guest house at Mandara hostel is very close to the Yelahanka New Town bus stand, so please take buses/ autos/taxis accordingly.    

Transport on day of conference- to and fro conference venue 

Transport from the place of stay to the conference venue will be arranged by us. You will be picked up from the place of stay. Bus will leave from accommodation at 8:00 am sharp to reach the conference venue by 9:00 am.  You will be dropped back to your place of stay after dinner. 

We request you to please ensure that you keep track of timings of departure from guesthouse and venue, as delays on your part will hold back the entire group staying at one location.  

Meals: Breakfast will be served from 7:00 am onwards at your guesthouse and will be on payment. Lunch, dinner and tea/coffee will be provided at the conference.

The applicants selected for oral presentations will be declared and informed shortly.

Eligibility for participation

  • The XXXVII All India Cell Biology Conference is open to all the categories of members of the society.
  • Non-Members who wish to register and/or participate in the Annual Conference should either become member of the Society or may become Seasonal Member by paying a Seasonal Membership fee from time to time for the particular Annual Conference. The seasonal membership fee will be collected by the Secretary/Treasurer of ISCB and will go to ISCB's funds. This membership can be done during the conference. Participants need to fill the application form and hand over the form along with the fee. The different ISCB membership application forms are available in .
  • Every member will be entitled to register and participate in the meeting even if he/she does not intend presenting a paper in platform/poster sessions. Such members should intimate their intention to register and should request for accommodation to the convener before the due date set for the purpose by the convener.
  • Each member of ISCB who has paid membership dues will be entitled to receive the abstract book and such other papers as are issued to all other registered participants.


Awards will be presented for exceptional poster and platform presents.

  • One person will not be eligible to receive more than one award
  • Anyone who has received an award at an earlier ISCB conference will not be eligible to compete again.
  • The award for the platform and poster presentations are open to student members of the society, below 30 years of age at the time of the conference.
  • Abstracts submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
